Marika (she/her) received her B.S. in Biology from Texas A&M University and went on to study physical therapy at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX, graduating with her doctorate in 2010. She has been specializing in pelvic health for the past 7 years, with particular interest in pain and sexual health. She is both a comprehensively trained and certified Pilates instructor as well as a certified dry needling provider.
Marika has completed all levels of Somatic Experiencing training, a body oriented and sensory based approach to processing of trauma and chronic stress. Nervous system regulation informs a large part of her work, particularly with chronic pain, chronic illness, and post surgical re-integration.
She strives to provide a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for all bodies and to facilitate building confidence in one’s movement capacity and functional abilities. Outside of the clinic, Marika stays busy spending time with her friends and family (1 partner, 2 kids, 2 cats), hiking, living room dancing, and crocheting (poorly).
